You took an interesting approach by deconstructing your space from a sonic perspective however your research does not show any specific finding yet and did not draw any strong conclusion. Your presentation has a clear visual communication however we don’t feel that we learn anything new from the research. We don’t understand what your sound map is supposed to reveal.

Did you question how does the space of the church interplay with the notions of power, class, gender & race? What does the guestbook shows in terms of the demography of the place? If you focus on the influence on the sound on people behavior you could question as well how does the sound of the voice impact how people move or relate to each other in the space? How is power perform through sound and through the use of the voice in the church? What are the dominant voices and the ones that have been silent? It would be interesting to make further analysis from the guestbooks.

For now in your video it’s a bit difficult to listen the recording from the guestbook while at the same time reading the content of the timeline. Also, you could look at Instagram as a kind of guestbook by looking at what kind of picture people posted from this specific church. What are the code of representation? Who are these people? We expect more work for a group composed of three people. Divide better the tasks among yourselves to give more depth and perspective on your research.

General feedback
- Make your presentations as visual as possible.
- Use your major skills to make original visual output.

- Connect your theory assignment to the practice.
The theory is there to back up your work. Use the theory assignment to expand and dig further in the topic you’re investigating with your practice project.

- Make your research question more specific.

Don’t be scared of framing a long research question. More specific your question is, the more you will be able to get specific findings.

- Express the relevancy of your research.
When you present your research it is important that you express clearly why your work is important? Why is your research question relevant and urgent?

- Do not use your hot glue page for your presentation.

As we already mentioned in the previous class, your hot glue page is there to keep track of your process but should not be used as a presentation format. For a presentation, we expect you to prepare a pdf, a keynote or powerpoint that narrates your story in a clear and concise way. Create hierarchy in the information you give.
